Personal care services at home

Hands-on help with the activities of daily living, delivered in your home by trained personal care aides.

Personal care is non-medical, one-on-one assistance with daily living. It's often the right choice when an older adult or person with a disability needs help staying safe and comfortable at home — but doesn't need skilled nursing.

  • Bathing and showering
  • Dressing and grooming
  • Mobility and transfers
  • Toileting and incontinence care
  • Oral and personal hygiene
  • Medication reminders (non-medical)

Payment may be private-pay, long-term-care insurance, or — for eligible participants — Medicaid. See our private-pay guide and Medicaid home-care overview.
